Dear Birmingham Baptists,
On December 7, the Baptist Health System board voted to donate a 16,000 square foot facility to the Birmingham Metro Baptist Association. Located across the street from the building we are currently leasing, the facility is a generous donation, providing a permanent home for BMBA in Birmingham. This strategic location will provide a home office for serving Birmingham for years to come. In addition to the building, the Baptist Health System will provide $350,000 toward a goal of $500,000 to renovate the three-floor facility. Your gift will help us to complete the renovation.
Room to Move
The new facility will expand our reach. We host partners such as Metro Changers, Discovery Clubs of Alabama, WorkFaith, Birmingham WMU, and Pathways Counseling in our current 9000-square-foot facility. Recently, Bessemer Baptist joined forces with the BMBA. Now, we are at capacity and need room to move! The new facility will allow the Association to increase the number of ministry partners and provide a much-needed conference center. The new location in a redeveloping area will allow Birmingham Baptists to engage the Birmingham region as never before.
Renovation: January—February 2021
In the first quarter of 2021, the BMBA Facilities Taskforce desires to renovate the building and replace systems in the building. Replacing the HVAC with zoned, efficient equipment and retrofitting the lighting with efficient LED equipment will reduce operating costs. Some spaces need new ceilings. The Taskforce will redesign the parking areas and landscaping for better access. The finished project will have a clean, modern feel.

Beginning January 1, 2021, the Birmingham Baptist Association and the Bessemer Baptist Association will officially become the Birmingham Metro Baptist Association, Inc. This permanent partnership represents 180 churches linking arms for the Gospel across the Greater Birmingham area. Our mission is to encourage, equip, and engage biblically faithful churches in the Great Commission for God’s glory. Now, we have a new mission and a new space.
