Dear Birmingham Baptists,
Thanks to a gift from Baptist Health System, the Birmingham Metro Baptist Association will own a facility for our offices. The 16,000-square-foot building on Medical Park Drive NE is located directly across from our current location. The BHS board approved the gift of the facility and $350,000 to put toward improving the building. Birmingham Baptists are grateful for this remarkable act of generosity. God has blessed our association and provided an opportunity for immeasurable impact in the city!
Our current 9,600-square-foot office building—owned by BHS—will be sold soon. The association has enjoyed a $1 per year lease for many years. We will now move our offices into the larger facility that we will own. The facility, once occupied by American Heart Association, is in a strategic location. Our leadership will refurbish the facility for Kingdom ministry and repurpose it to be a resource for our churches for many years to come.
We are grateful to Amy Allen, BHS president and CEO, and Baptist Health System for their investment in the association. The refurbished building will stand as a testimony to the Baptist Health System’s commitment to the gospel of Jesus Christ and the Birmingham Metro Baptist Association churches. To learn more about the gift, read the recent article published by The Alabama Baptist newspaper on their website at thealabamabaptist.org.
The relocation—which will take place in the first quarter of 2021—will provide a once in a lifetime opportunity for churches and individuals to invest in associational ministry. The BMBA has selected a team to oversee the renovation of the facility. If you or your church desires to make a financial investment in the relocation and renovation project, please contact me at ChrisC@BMBAOnline.org.
With sincere gratitude,
Chris Crain, Executive Director
